Last summer the 500 mile Camino Di Santiago pilgrimage in Spain was a great success and my wife and I received national attention in our effort to raise awareness for alternative treatments for macular degeneration. http://kondrotcamino.com/
This year we are going to continue our mission to raise awareness in alternative treatments for Glaucoma. We will begin the 435 mile Camino Le Puy, which is part of Way of St James Pilgrimage .
This Pilgrimage dates back over 1,200 years ago when a monk who followed a field of stars (probably the Milky Way) to this distant corner of Europe and discovered what appeared to be the long-lost tomb of St. James. Church leaders declared that St. James’ relics had been found, built a church, and named the place Santiago (St. James) de Compostela (campo de estrellas, or “field of stars”). Thousands of pilgrims do this walk every year for over 1200 years.
Imagine you’re a medieval pilgrim. You’ve just walked from Paris — more than 700 miles — to reach this cathedral. Your goal: to request the help of St. James in recovering from an illness. Or maybe you’ve come to honor the wish of a dying relative…or to be forgiven for your sins. In our case it is to help all the patients suffering and losing vision from glaucoma.
We will begin Aug 14th in Le Puy, France and end on September 25th, 435 miles later, in Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port, France.
While receiving our Pilgrim blessing at the Cathedral of Le Puy, I learned that each Pilgrim is to take a card from a large box with thousands of petitions. These are from people who are not able to walk the Camino but have a request to be read along the sacred pilgrimage. Each Day a pilgrim is to read the prayer or petition along the sacred journey to St. Jean Pied de Port.
If you have any prayers or petitions please send them to me and I promise I will read them every day along my 435 mile journey to St. Jean Pied de Port. Please send your petition to DrKondrot@HealingTheEye.com
Miracles happen every day on the Camino. Let one be yours!
I will continue to do consults and follow-ups everyday from France and also my radio show will be broadcasted every Sunday from France!
This year we are hoping to raise awareness in the alternative treatments for glaucoma. Please support us on the Camino Le Puy to help bring awareness and hope to patients with glaucoma!
All proceeds will go to the Restore Vision Foundation, an Arizona non-profit corporation
